Marcus and Kelly Walker are community leaders whose shared commitment to service has helped strengthen families and neighborhoods across Baltimore. Marcus is a senior utility executive, real estate developer, and President of A Strong Foundation, Inc., bringing more than 20 years of experience in financial operations, organizational leadership, and housing development. Kelly is an educator with more than 20 years of experience and helps lead the organization’s high-quality early-education and family-centered initiatives.

Together, they advance affordable housing, early education, literacy, and neighborhood revitalization. Their work in Coldstream-Homestead-Montebello, the Four-by-Four community, and Darley Park includes transforming vacant properties into quality homes, creating affordable pathways to homeownership, supporting beautification and safety improvements, and organizing resident-centered programs for families and youth. They work alongside residents, community associations, public agencies, and private partners to create sustainable change grounded in trust, opportunity, and community pride.

Inspired by their daughter, Makayla Walker, Marcus and Kelly have built their work around a simple belief: Everyone deserves a strong foundation. They measure success by the lasting difference their efforts make in people’s lives.
