LaVaughn is a committed school Social Worker, and has provided social/emotional counseling, crisis intervention, and guidance to countless youth in Washington, D.C. for over 20 years. While working with DC Public Schools (DCPS), LaVaughn was recognized with a “Best of the Best” award for his tireless work with teen fathers, and in Spring 2023 DCPS highlighted LaVaughn on their website by having him represent the entire district when discussing excellence in Social Work. Additionally, LaVaughn consults with several agencies throughout the region licensing foster homes, and providing individual and family therapy with a focus on fathers and sons. A native Washingtonian, La Vaughn received his Bachelor of Social Work from Norfolk State University and his Master of Social Work (with a concentration in children and families) from Howard University. La Vaughn is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in both Washington, D.C. and the state of Maryland. LaVaughn Currently resides in Silver Spring, MD with his wife and 4 children.
